Pandemic Times Week #7 April 27, 2020
- Kaitlin and I took the tarp off our patio furniture and sat out in the sun for a bit. It was really nice. Maisie joined us.
- To celebrate Rosanne's 50th birthday this week, she was having people come to visit in her driveway at set times during the day on Saturday. I saw several driveway parties as I drove from my house to hers. Strange times.
- As much as I love my new coat, it is really nice to see the weather get warmer. I am getting better at getting in two dog walks a day. Going to try and get at least 5k of walking in a day. It will be a lot easier as it gets warmer. I listen to podcasts or audiobooks while I walk.
- I was thinking about how much I have struggled not to keep gaining weight since I started working from home. I think my eating is overall healthier with almost no eating out at all. I wonder if our bodies are just holding onto weight like they would in crisis in the past you know? Somehow news of a worldwide pandemic has sunk into our genes??
- One good thing is that Kaitlin and Faith and working hard to get all of us to eat healthy, including having more fruits and vegetables. Faith has cut up fruit and we have salad, raw carrots, and a vegetable at every dinner and sometimes lunch.
- I am still waiting for my Old Navy order that I placed April 1st and also a puzzle that I ordered from Walmart about 3 weeks ago. Amazon has been pretty good though. Kaitlin ordered Starbucks Nespresso pods through Amazon and Richard ordered popcorn and they came pretty quickly.
- Last week I had a couple of rough days, was feeling a bit down and then had a 2-day migraine Thurs-Friday which sucked. But overall, the migraines have been much less frequent! (2 on March, 2 in April). I saw this list for Isolation Well-being and thought it was helpful.
- I was thinking about how one of the good things that have come out of this pandemic is I feel the need to keep in close contact with family members, friends, friends who live alone, etc. So I am putting much more effort into being a half-decent sister, daughter, friend than I would normally. So that is really a good thing. But at times, it also feels a bit overwhelming to want to keep everyone safe and to keep reading about those who have gotten sick or died. On top of that kind of news, Canada had its worst mass killing in history last weekend. Hearing the stories of the people who needlessly lost their lives are heartbreaking.
- We had our team meeting this morning and my manager commented that it is Week #7 of Teleworking. I thought of this picture I saw on Twitter on the weekend 2020 so far.
- Tara said she saw a meme that said – the economy is in trouble because we are all only buying what we need!
